Are you a budding entrepreneur but unsure which specific field of entrepreneurship are you? Well here’s a classification in my books Idealist Entrepreneurs Individuals who start their business as their best strategy. They are content doing it all alone and usually bursting with ideas every time. They would start a business. If its successful or a flop, they would sell the business or delegate it to someone and would try a new venture next. It’s the thrill of a new entrepreneurship that entices such entrepreneurs. Serious Entrepreneurs They’re similar to Idealist Entrepreneurs but the difference is that they’re more focused. Instead of branching into another venture or haybrain ideas, they focused on the job at hand, making the best god-damn business they can from the current project. They’re aware, receptive and always abreast of market updrafts and will do well in building successful businesses. Buying Entrepreneurs The ideal business model for this entrepreneur is to start a business by purchasing an existing business. They are more cautious and less of a risk taker. They need to employ someone to think out of the box and they’re usually someone who was from the corporate or working world. They’re the hard worker type and their goals are usually short term. Franchise Entrepreneurs This type of entrepreneur is the best of both world of “Buying Entrepreneurs” and “Serious Entrepreneurs”. Someone who doesn’t like or have the interest to start a business from scratch. The yuppies types always having the energy and would prefer a business model with lesser risk than the usual startup. Most of such entrepreneurs are team players but at times lack leadership skills.
