No matter what strategy you use to rapidly expand your business you will have to have three things in place if you want to be successful:
1. A burning Desire to see your business grow
2. A clear cut goal of where you want to be.
3. A deadline for its accomplishment. If these things are not in place you could try all the strategies you want and still not get there. So before instigating any of these ideas spend some time defining these three things.
You will find it easier to succeed when you know where you are going.
1. The Massive Action Strategy This strategy requires planning and study at the beginning. First you need to study your business to determine which actions taken ultimately lead to business growth. Once you know what those actions are you need to plan your daily and weekly activities to be comprised of a high majority of those actions. Pack in as much of those actions as humanly possible. Don’t let anything stand in the way of doing those actions you know will lead to business growth. In fact you should practice the art of choosing to be oblivious of all the less important things which will pull at your time. Once you have your plan start it immediately and don’t look back until you have either achieved your goal or the deadline is past. In either case spend some time analyzing your progress, make plans and begin again. As with all these strategies, but especially this one you need to plan time for play. Do something which takes your mind off your business goals and have some fun. If you don’t you will end up less productive when you are working, sometimes you will even fall further back then when you started.
2. The advertising strategy People become accustomed to and comfortable with things they have regular exposure to. Here is your challenge, exposing your customers, prospects, total strangers, and yes even your employees to the merits of your product and/or service as often and in as many ways as possible. Sit down and brain storm all the different ways you could get you message out to people. You could get 1000 business cards printed and make it a goal to give them all out in two months. You could advertise in the paper, on TV, on the radio, Online through Pay per click, or in Ezines, online classified add sites. These are only a few of the ideas you could come up with. Next thing is to implement as many of them as you can. You will probably have to stay within a budget so that will mean you will have to get creative with some of your campaigns but that will just add to the fun and creativity to your work. Inundate your mind with exposing your business to everyone and anyone you come into contact with. You will Know you are on the right track when you start hearing comments like “Is all you ever talk about your business?” Don’t be discouraged by these comments they are a sign that you are into the habit of advertising you business.
3. The Strengths Strategy You must be good at something, what is it? What do you do which you enjoy and are really good at in your business? Well here is your opportunity to do it almost exclusively. If you are a good salesman then don’t spend time in the office doing accounting. Concentrate on what you are good at and leave the things you aren’t as good at to others if you can, if you can’t then either leave them until it is absolutely necessary for them to be done, then do it all in one sitting. Some things which you are doing right now probably don’t need doing at all. Pawn off as much of the things you are not good at to anyone who will do it while you build your business. This is a good way of developing a ‘master mind’ group. A team of people who all have different talents and abilities banded together towards one goal. This one concept could launch your business into the next level.
4. The Consistent Change Strategy This strategy seems like a contradiction of terms. You want to make massive gains in your business but by only making small almost insignificant weekly changes. The key here is that most success doesn’t come from making radical changes in your business but instead refining your daily business activities. Right now you probably know of at least 10-12 little changes you could make in your daily activities which would improve your business growth. Some of them have been nagging at you for quite some time. Now is the time to make those changes. Make a list of at least 12 little things you feel would improve your business. Make sure they can be accomplished with a minimum of effort. Put them in order of importance and ease of implementation. Once you have your list start at the top. Make one change every week. Do not stop doing the prior weeks activities when you start a new week. This will start to crowd out some of the things which you are doing which aren’t productive in your daily business activities. If you maintain this process your business will be radically changed in six months time.
5. The New Product Launch Strategy Have you built up your clientele already with one or two products? Are there other there other products available which would be beneficial to your clients? Why not take advantage of your business relationship and offer a new product to them? This strategy works well only if you have your clients best interests in mind, not only your bottom line. If you are only thinking of your business then you may see a burst of revenue for a time but soon you will start loosing clients. People don’t like being taken advantage of but if you have them in mind then your product choices and your approach will benefit both you and your clients.
