Are you interested in becoming an entrepreneur? If so, there are some things that you need to consider; most importantly of which; do you have what it takes to own a small business?
Running an organization takes a lot of will power and some people are cut out for it, and some are not. Here are some questions that you can ask yourself to determine if you have what it takes to become an entrepreneur:
Am I a decision maker? Do I have the ability to makes decisions in a timely manner when money is on the line.
Can you handle the pressure of customers, money, and critical deadlines? As a business owner, you are the one that calls the shots, but you are also the one that must take the blame. When your company loses money and you can’t pay your employees, its your fault.
Am I organized, independent, and self-confident? In other words, do you have the ability to run things on your own, without constant motivation from someone else. If at your current job, your boss must constantly be watching over your work, then maybe being an entrepreneur is not for you.
Do I have a Small Business Background? No, it is not critical that you have a small business background; but it does prove that you can work in such an environment. Maybe you have owned a small business before. Or maybe you have worked in a family business or other small business. Are you able to take the pressure that is associated with it.
There are many other questions that you can ask yourself about being an entrepreneur. But most of all, you must analyze whether or not you have the determination to succeed against all odds.
