Lack of Family Time In our mobile society, families seem to go ninety-to-nothing all day, every day. And all of them are going in different directions. The parents each go in different directions to work; the kids are at school or day care. And oftentimes the kids are also involved in sports, music or other extra curricular activities which demands its own investment of time. (Both for the drive time and the event itself.) In the summer the kids may spend a couple of weeks away at camp. Eventually those kids become old enough to drive and that brings an entirely new set of problems with regard to the lack of “together family time.” What parent hasn’t, at one time or another, suddenly looked at that son or daughter and marveled at how fast he or she is growing and changing. For the most part those changes are almost imperceptible. But then all of a sudden you do a double take. “Is that really my kid? Is that my little baby?” Where do the years go; and how can they fly by so fast? Feeling Boxed In? Have you ever felt as though you’re losing something by being away from your kids so much?
