Well being an entrepreneur myself, I need to network a lot and the thing is my personality likens that of an introverted person. Hey I’ve been like that since I was young, can’t change that, so it was really hard for me to make ‘changes’ in my life to accommodate my new found career.

I told myself to be successful, I really need to get out of my comfort zone and just mix-it-up as they say it. I can always go back to being aloof and alone to myself or with my small group of friends after work.

I think of it like acting. Kinda like a Jekyll and Hyde personality. I’m totally different when I’m at work compared when I’m with my close friends. Well whatever successful method that will get you through the day, just try it, however foolish it may sound.

When I’m invited to an event, I would usually go with someone in my same field of niche. I would ask any around of course. It beats the anxiety of going alone to such functions.

Always always and always have a short intro of yourself and what you do in mind. I always prepare it in advance. So when I meet new people, I just dishes it out easily rather than the need to think about it and give vague intros.

I usually hate to meet large groups. So I stick to smaller groups. Meetings and talks with a smaller group I find is much more personal, whereas a larger group, I tend to forget the names, the moment I left them.

One thing about me is that I don’t make an effort to add something to the conversation. Oh I’m a good listener but I need to contribute some information to the conversation. I’m still trying this.

So there you go, some tips for introverted entrepreneurs like me :)

P.S. Try The Rick Jerk book, I learned plenty of entrepreneur tips from there
